KAIST welcomes your application to our graduate program. Before you apply, please read the following guidelines to understand the eligibility, timelines, requirements, and other information about the application, and best present yourself to our student selection committee.

    - Any applications that don't meet our requirements and deadline will not be accepted. 
    - After completing the application, please monitor the status of document submission at regular intervals. 

The following information is the essential timelines and conditions of your application to our graduate program. 


I. Admission Timelines

On-line Application      

December 7th(Tue.), 2021, 10:00 A.M. 

   ~ December 28th(Tue.)2021, 5:00 P.M. 

Document Submission 
 - A hardcopy of the online application and 
   supporting materials by post to KAIST

   Recommendation letters should be uploaded on our 
     system by the same due date

By January 5th(Wed.)2022, 6:00 P.M.

Arrival Check of Submitted Documents

Application and Scholarship Review  

Department offices will contact applicants 
  individually if an interview is necessary.

Notification of Final Decisions      March 4th(Fri.), 2022, 5:00 P.M.
Beginning of the Fall SemesterAugust 29th(Mon.), 2022

   The timelines in this table are based on the local time of South Korea (KST), and is subject to change without any prior notice. 
All the supporting materials along with a hard copy of application materials must be received by KAIST admissions office
   by the official due date [January 5th(Wed), 2022]. 
Late applications will not be accepted. 



II. Important Notices

A. KAIST receives recommendation letters electronically. Once you complete the application by paying the application 
   fee, each recommender will receive an automated email instructing how to proceed with their recommendation online.
   Our recommendation system will be open until January 5th(Wed.) 6:00 PM(KST). So, please complete 
   your application as early as possible so that your recommenders can have enough time to complete the letter. 

B. The letters of recommendation should remain strictly undisclosed to applicants and should not be requested any 
   reading or disclosure of information given in the letters. 

C. The application fee is USD 80 or KRW 80,000. Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer after completing 
   the online application. Additional charge(s) (i.e., bank charge) should be covered by the applicant. Please note that 
   the application fee is non-refundable, and you cannot modify the application once you pay the application fee.

D. Any document KAIST that receives becomes property of KAIST and will not be returned to the applicants. For any
   document that you cannot claim more than once, send us photocopies of the original documents verified as true copies 
   of the 
original by a responsible official of the institution - they must bear the original and official signature and
   stamp of the responsible official.

※ An offer of admission or a degree may be revoked if the applicant is found to have made misleading, incomplete, 
    or inaccurate statements or submitted a false material in connection with the application.
